Twelve COVID-19 deaths reported Thursday

The number of COVID-19 deaths in the state increased by twelve on Thursday, according to the state Department of Health, including one in Brookings County. The total number of COVID-19 deaths is now at 2677 since the start of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, active cases decreased again to just more than 27-thousand, and the number of people hospitalized because of the virus was at 344 as of Thursday.

The number of active cases in all area counties decreased yesterday, including Lake County where there were 242 active COVID-19 cases Thursday.
