Crabtree files nominating petitions for District 8 Senate seat

The first candidate for a legislative seat for District 8 has filed nominating petitions with the Secretary of State’s Office in Pierre.  Senator Casey Crabtree of Madison filed his petitions for re-election to his Senate seat last week.  

All legislators are up for election this year, serving two year terms.  Because of redistricting done this past year, District 8 now includes all of Lake and Kingsbury counties, along with most of Miner and Brookings counties.  

According to the Secretary of State’s Office, June primary candidates need to have petitions filed by March 29th.
