5-1-1 Travelers Information Website Updated

The South Dakota Department of Transportation has changed the look of the state’s 5-1-1 traveler information webpage.  Dave Huft, Research Program Manager for the D-O-T, says South Dakota’s web portal to safetavelusa.com just needed an update.

Huft says basic information like traffic cams and winter road conditions will remain the same, but some new features are being added.

Huft says the phone-based 5-1-1 is now capable of voice recognition.  He says the changes are ultimately about keeping the motoring public safe.

The changes will also be noted on the 5-1-1 app available for smartphones and other devices.
