2022 Girl’s State “A” Golf Meet Tees Off Today

The Madison Girls Golf team will be teeing up at the State A Girls Golf Meet at Bakkers Crossing GC in Sioux Falls this morning, June 6, and Madison will have five girls there to represent the Bulldogs. The meet will last today and tomorrow, June 7. 

Tournament will be a two-day, 36-hole event with each contestant scheduled to play 18 holes each Monday and Tuesday. The Individual Championship places will be determined by individual, two-day combined scores.

The Team Championship places will be determined based on the four, low aggregate scores for each round of play that is completed. Only schools that have qualified a minimum of four athletes for the State Meet as a team will be eligible for Team Championship placing.

Julie Dossett, Olivia Fleming, Abby Palmquist, Eleni Sims, and Alison Vacanti all qualified for the state meet with their performances at the Region 1A meet on May 26 in Madison. There, the Bulldogs as a team won shooting 381. 

In the Region 1A meet, Vacanti led the way for Madison, shooting 89, followed by Palmquist (92), Dossett (97), Flemming (103), and Sims (103). 

The meet will tee off at 9:10 AM today, and Sims will be the first girl for Madison out on the course at 9:10. Vacanti and Flemming will tee off at 9:20 AM, Palmquist at 9:30 AM, and Dossett at 10:10 AM.
