An additional eleven COVID-19 deaths were reported by the state Department of Health over the weekend.  There have now been 1809 virus-related deaths in the state since the start of the pandemic.  The state also reported 285 new positive COVID-19 cases since Friday, bringing the state’s overall total number of positive cases to more than 109-thousand.  There are now just more than 23-hundred active COVID-19 cases in the state, and 113 people are hospitalized because of the virus.

Lake County reported four new positive COVID-19 cases over the weekend, along with three recovered cases.  There are 37 active cases currently in Lake County.

Miner County reported 17 active cases, Kingsbury County had 1, and Moody County reported 12 active coronavirus cases.  McCook County now has nine active cases, and Brookings County reported 122.

As of Sunday, more than 85-thousand South Dakota residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and more than 38-thousand have received both doses.
