The state Department of Health reports 47 additional COVID-19 deaths in the state Wednesday, bringing the state’s death toll to 995.  Five  of the deaths are residents from some area counties, including two from McCook County, two from Moody County, and one from Kingsbury County.

Overall, the state reports close to 13-hundred new positive COVID-19 cases Wednesday.  The number of active cases increases to 14-thousand-857, and 531 people are currently hospitalized. 

Lake County reports five new positive COVID-19 cases, and five recovered cases.  Lake County now has a total of 872 positive COVID-19 cases, with 705 recovered and ten deaths.  This puts the number of active cases in the county at 157. 

Active COVID-19 cases in area counties include 112 in McCook County, 85 in Kingsbury, and 83 in Moody County.  Miner County reports 27 active COVID-19 cases and Brookings County – 396.
