Wednesday COVID-19 update: 18 deaths in state; 6 new positive cases in Lake County
The state Department of Health reports eighteen additional COVID-19 deaths Wednesday, bringing the state’s overall total to 1464. The state also reports 562 new positive COVID-19 cases Wednesday. There are now 5729 active cases in the state, and 293 people are currently hospitalized.
Lake County reports another six new positive COVID-19 cases Wednesday, with no new recovered cases. This puts the number of active cases now in Lake County at 51.
McCook County has 40 active COVID-19 cases currently, Kingsbury County reports 38, and Moody County has 30 active cases as of Wednesday. Miner County reports 18 active COVID-19 cases, and Brookings County now has 203.
The state Department of Health also reports Wednesday that nearly 19-thousand people in the state have received the COVID-19 vaccine, including 286 Lake County residents.
