Two positive COVID-19 cases reported at Madison Elementary School

The Madison Central School District has reported two new positive COVID-19 cases in the district.  The two positive cases are students or staff members at Madison Elementary School.  Superintendent Joel Jorgenson notified parents Monday of the new cases and said that parents would also be notified if their student is considered a close contact to one of the two positive cases.  Currently, these are the only two active COVID-19 cases within the school district and all three buildings remain at a Level One status according to the district’s Back to School plan.

As of Monday, the state Department of Health reported 59 active COVID-19 cases in Lake County, and just more than 72-hundred active cases statewide.  Another fifteen COVID-19 deaths were reported also Monday in the state, putting the overall total at 2160.
