Two people injured in vehicle-deer accident

Two people were injured Sunday night in Lake County when their vehicle hit a deer.  The Lake County Sheriff’s Office reports that 21-year-old Anthony Dayton of Brookings was driving a 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup  south on Highway 81 near 224th Street just after 9:30 Sunday night when a buck deer entered the roadway from the east.  The Sheriff’s Office said Dayton did not see the deer in time and struck it on the center of the pickup truck.  There were two passengers in the vehicle with Dayton.  One of the passengers and Dayton were transported to Madison Regional Health for injuries sustained in the crash.  The pickup was disabled and towed from the scene.
