The total number of active COVID-19 cases in the state decreased Tuesday, while the number of people hospitalized statewide increased.  With 278 new positive cases reported by the state Department of Health Tuesday, the total number of positive cases statewide is approaching 25-thousand.  The number of active cases in the state is now at 4179, and 250 people are currently hospitalized.  The state reported no new virus-related deaths Tuesday.   

One more positive COVID-19 case has been reported in Lake County Tuesday, with three more recovered cases.  There are now 26 active cases in the county.

Active cases in area counties as of Tuesday include 44 in McCook County, 31 in Moody and fifteen in Kingsbury County.  There are currently eight active COVID-19 cases in Miner County, and 89 in Brookings County. Â
