Another five new positive COVID-19 cases are being reported in Lake County Thursday, along with one new recovered case.  

The state Department of Health reports 140 total positive cases in Lake County, with 113 of them recovered and six total virus-related deaths.  This puts the number of active cases in the county now at 21, with four people having ever been hospitalized because of the virus. 

Statewide, another four COVID-19 deaths are being reported Thursday.  These are reported in Bennett, Clay, Corson, and Minnehaha counties.  The state’s total number of deaths is now at 177.

New positive cases in the state increased by 263 Thursday.  2456 of the cases are active at this time, and 83 people are currently hospitalized. 

Other area counties’ active COVID-19 cases as of Thursday include Brookings County with 147, Moody County with 18, and McCook County with 16.  Kingsbury County currently has five active COVID-19 cases.
