Another 24 COVID-19 deaths are being reported in the state Thursday, with three of them reported in area counties.  Lake, McCook, and Brookings counties each reported one additional COVID-19 death Thursday.  Overall, the state has had 1763 people die with COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

The state Department of Health Thursday also reports 187 new positive COVID-19 cases.  There are just more than 31-hundred active cases statewide, and 161 people are currently hospitalized. 

Along with another death, Lake County is also reporting two new positive COVID-19 cases Thursday and two recovered cases.  The county currently has 51 active COVID-19 cases.

Elsewhere in our area, Moody County reports 28 active cases, Kingsbury County-26, and Miner County has 21 active COVID-19 cases.  McCook County reports 9 active cases, and Brookings County has 156.  

As of Thursday, the state Department of Health reports that more than 63-thousand residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
