Thursday COVID-19 update: 14 deaths & 279 new positive cases in state
An additional fourteen COVID-19 deaths are being reported in the state Thursday. The state Department of Health reports the state’s virus-related death toll is now at 1829. In our area, one of Thursday’s deaths reported is a resident of Kingsbury County.
Statewide, another 279 new positive COVID-19 cases are being reported. This brings the state’s overall total of positive cases since the start of the pandemic to just less than 110-thousand. There are currently more than 22-hundred active COVID-19 cases, and 104 people are hospitalized because of the virus.
Lake County Thursday reports five new positive cases, with six recovered cases. The county now has 27 active COVID-19 cases.
Elsewhere in the area, Miner County reports 13 active cases, Moody County has eight, and Kingsbury and McCook counties each report 11 active COVID-19 cases as of Thursday. Brookings County has 111 active cases.
