One additional COVID-19 death and just more than 200 new positive cases are being reported Thursday.  The overall number of positive COVID-19 cases in the state since the start of the pandemic is now at more than 114-thousand.  The state Department of Health reports 2131 active cases, and 67 people are currently hospitalized because of the virus.

Lake County reports eight new positive COVID-19 cases Thursday and four recovered cases.  Overall, Lake County has had 1230 positive and 1165 recovered cases, and 18 deaths.  The county now has 47 active coronavirus cases.

Elsewhere in our area, McCook and Kingsbury counties saw an increase in active cases Thursday, while the number of active cases in Moody County decreased.  There is no change in active cases in Miner and Brookings counties.

The state reports that 31-percent of the state’s population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 17-percent have received both doses.
