Strategic Plan Survey Results Presented on Wednesday

Residents of Madison had an opportunity Wednesday, to hear information regarding the City of Madison’s Strategic Plan. In December Madison contracted with PASQ a rural economic development agency, to help the city develop the plan.

Eric Muckey with PASQ said the plan they are developing looks to incorporate all priorities in the city.

Jessica Meyers with PASQ said they spoke with business and community leaders, but also wanted to reach other parts of the city.

Meyers said they received responses from about 12 percent of the community. Of those, 62 percent were from individuals under the age of 45. When asked the question “wouldn’t it be great if…” many responses included more grocery and retail options, improved roads, affordable housing and child care. When asked to rate the community on a scale of 1 to 10, the average response was 7.3.

PASQ hopes to have a final presentation and report back to the City Commission for approval by June 5th. In the meantime, the survey has been reopened through April 28th for more individuals to respond.
