State sending PPE to healthcare providers

Governor Kristi Noem announced during her daily media briefing on Tuesday that the state is going to be sending some personal protective equipment (or PPE) to healthcare providers in the state as they start resuming some of their services for patients.

State Department of Health Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon said that it has been challenging for providers and for the state to get the PPE that they need.

Malsam-Rysdon said that the supplies are still limited, but they will be working to get out what they can to the state’s providers.

Malsam-Rysdon said that some people have been foregoing necessary medical care because of COVID-19, so she said that she wants people to feel safe in getting the care they need and having providers with proper personal protective equipment will help with that. Â
