Four more people in the state have died from COVID-19.  The state Department of Health reported Thursday that the state’s total number of deaths from the virus increased to 97.  The new deaths are residents of Buffalo, Beadle, Lyman, and Pennington counties.

The state reported another new positive COVID-19 case in Lake County Thursday, bringing the county’s total number of positive cases to 22.  Of those, five are considered active at this time and there have been 677 negative tests. 

Statewide, 67 new positive COVID-19 cases are being reported Thursday, bringing the state’s overall total to close to 69-hundred.  814 of those cases are reported as active, and 64 people are currently hospitalized because of the virus. 

The only other area county to see an increase in positive cases Thursday is Brookings County, which had three new positive COVID-19 cases.  Brookings County currently has fifteen active coronavirus cases.  

Miner County has five active cases, Moody County has four, McCook County has three, and Kingsbury County has one active COVID-19 case at this time.
