State reports 85 new positive COVID-19 cases Friday
The state Department of Health reported 85 new positive COVID-19 cases on Friday, putting the state’s total number of cases near the seven-thousand mark. Of those cases, there are 832 active cases, and 58 people who are currently hospitalized because of COVID-19. 97 South Dakota residents have died from COVID-19.
Lake County reported a couple more people recovered from COVID-19 as of Friday. Of the county’s 22 overall positive cases of the virus, eighteen of them are reported as recovered and there has been one death. Currently there are three active COVID-19 cases in Lake County, and there have been 677 negative tests.
In our area, McCook and Moody counties each have four active COVID-19 cases at this time, while Miner County has three. Brookings County currently has sixteen active coronavirus cases as of Friday.
