State DOH receiving COVID-19 vaccine based on demand
More than 54-percent of the state’s eligible population has now had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 45-percent are fully vaccinated.
State Health Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon says they are now moving to a demand system for vaccines.
Malsam-Rysdon says that means vaccines won’t be delivered unless there is demand to use them.
Despite a public relations campaign for the vaccines, Malsam-Rysdon says she expects a majority of people will get the shots.
More information on where someone can go to receive the COVID-19 vaccine can be found on the state’s website at covid.sd.gov.
