Samantha Cox Jail

A Madison resident is serving time in jail, after pleading guilty to grand theft. 31-year old Samantha Cox was sentenced last week at the Lake County Courthouse. 

Between October of 2019 and October of 2022, Cox was employed at Valiant Living in Madison, and had access to the debit or credit cards of 2 administrators. She used those cards to pay her own bills and buy items for herself. 

Cox was indicted by a Grand Jury in April of 2023 and was arrested May 1st of that year. In January she pled guilty to one count of Grand Theft, between $2,500 and $5,000. That is a Class 5 felony. 

Cox was sentenced to 5 years in the State Penitentiary. That prison time was then suspended. She will instead serve 60 days in jail, and pay restitution totaling 18-thousand,152 dollars.
