Pandemic slows down justice system

The coronavirus outbreak has slowed down the justice system across the state by halting jury trials.

Supreme Court Chief Justice David Gilbertson says the presiding judge in each circuit can decide on when and how to resume jury trials.

Gilbertson says some jury pools have been brought back into courtrooms.

Gilbertson says some areas are seeing cases stack up.

Gilbertson says each courthouse is unique in design and space which presents problems in distancing large groups of jurors and spectators.
