New ORR School Board holds first meeting

The first meeting of the newly formed Oldham-Ramona-Rutland School Board was held this week in the Lake County Courthouse in Madison.  

The five members of the new board took their oaths of office from Lake County Auditor Paula Barrick.  Board members include Jessica Anderson and Lori Hyland, serving three-year terms; Tyler Pickard and Carrie Schiernbeck, serving two-year terms; and Lance Hageman serving a one-year term.  

During this week’s meeting, the new board voted for Hageman to serve as Chair of the consolidated board and Pickard to serve as Vice-Chair.  

The board selected Crystal Hansen, Business Manager for the Rutland School District, to be the interim business manager for the consolidated district.  Cassi Johnson, Oldham-Ramona’s Business Manager, will serve as the Assistant Interim Business Manager.  

A special school board meeting will be held tonight (Thursday) at 6:00 in the Ramona Superintendent’s Office.  Tom Oster with Dakota Education Consulting will be at the special meeting and discussion will be held on ORR consolidation information.

The next regular meeting for the Oldham-Ramona-Rutland School Board will be on Sunday, February 5th at 1:00 p.m. in the Ramona Superintendent’s Office.
