One person died Saturday night in a vehicle-pedestrian crash near Colman.

Names of the people involved are not yet being released pending notification of family. Preliminary crash information indicates a 2011 GMC Yukon was southbound in the driving lane of Interstate 29 when it struck a 34-year-old female who was walking in the driving lane. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both male occupants of the car, the 29-year-old driver and the one-year-old passenger, were not injured. Both were wearing seat belts.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
