Just more than one-hundred new positive COVID-19 cases were reported in the state on Monday, bringing the state’s overall total number of positive cases to just less than 116-thousand since the start of the pandemic.  The number of active cases and people hospitalized both increased slightly yesterday, and there were no new virus-related deaths.

Lake County reported one new positive COVID-19 case, along with three recovered cases.  The county remained in the substantial community spread category with 59 active cases as of Monday. Kingsbury and McCook counties remained in the substantial community spread category, according to the state Department of Health, with 25 and 17 active cases respectively. Brookings County also remained in substantial community spread with 98 active coronavirus cases as of Monday.  Miner County was listed as having moderate community spread and had 12 active cases, while Moody County was listed as having minimal community spread with four.

The Madison Central School District reported one new positive COVID-19 case within the district on Monday.  The district reported that a student or staff member at Madison Elementary School had tested positive for the virus, but that there were no close contacts for the district.Â
