Mills files petition for District 8 House race

A second Republican has filed nominating petitions for re-election to the state House of Representatives.  John Mills of Volga, who currently serves in the state House for District 4, has now filed petitions for re-election to the House for District 8.

Because of redistricting, District 8 now includes all of Lake and Kingsbury counties, along with most of Brookings and Miner counties.  Mills joins incumbent District 8 Representative Marli Wiese of Madison, who has also filed Republican petitions for re-election.

One person has filed petitions for the state Senate for District 8.  Casey Crabtree of Madison, a Republican, is seeking re-election to his seat in the Senate.

All legislators are up for election this year, each serving two year terms.

According to the Secretary of State’s Office, June primary candidates need to have petitions filed by March 29th.
