A Madison teenager escaped injury in a rollover accident last week north of Madison.  The Lake County Sheriff’s Office reports that the 15-year-old was driving a 2007 Chevy pickup north on  456th Avenue last Thursday evening and was making a right-hand turn onto 230th Street.  The Sheriff’s report said that the teen stated he looked down at his ankle to itch it and while looking down he made his turn too sharp and went into the south ditch.  The report said the ditch was steep and had soft shoulders, and the teen’s vehicle tipped onto its roof but he was able to crawl out of the vehicle unharmed.  The pickup had a flatbed setup with a large water tank that was full at the time of the crash.  The Sheriff’s Office believes the large tank may have contributed to the weight shift causing the pickup to roll over.
