Madison City Commission meeting Tuesday

The Madison City Commission meets later Tuesday, instead of Monday, because of the Labor Day holiday.

On the agenda for city commissioners Tuesday is a public hearing on and approval of the Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce’s application for a temporary retail (on-off sale) malt beverage license for Bacon Bash on Saturday, September 11th.  Commissioners will also hold a public hearing on the assessment roll for the city’s 2020 sidewalk improvement project.  The commission is also scheduled to hold second reading on several ordinances, including ones on marijuana zoning and licensing.

Commissioners Tuesday will also review and award the bid for the LAIC’s Highway 34 turn lane project, and discuss installing an irrigation system at the Baughman/Belatti sports fields.  They will also discuss the use of ARPA funds to sponsor a vaccine incentive lottery program.

These items and more make up Tuesday’s agenda for the Madison City Commission.  The commission meeting begins at 5:30 in the commission room in Madison City Hall.  It can also be accessed through Zoom.
