Madison City Commission meeting Tuesday

The Madison City Commission will hold second reading of its ordinance regarding medical cannabis establishments during its regular meeting later today.  Commissioners are holding their regular meeting today because of the Memorial Day holiday on Monday.

Also on the agenda for city commissioners is an update on the Madison Aquatic Center, including electrical component quotes.  Commissioners will also approve a grant application with the state Department of Health for West Nile Virus prevention, and discuss Madison Splash Zones with Dan Buresh of the Madison Fire Department.  The commission will also discuss moving the budget deadline per Senate Bill 138.

Another item on the city commission’s agenda today is a Memorandum of Agreement among FEMA, the state Historic Preservation Office, the city, and the state Office of Emergency Management regarding the City of Madison, Madison Park Creek Project and the treatment of adverse effects to the historic Memorial Creek walls.

The Madison City Commission meeting begins at 5:30 today in the commission room in Madison City Hall and also can be accessed through the use of Zoom.
