The Madison City Commission holds its regular weekly meeting later today.

On the agenda for commissioners are two public hearings.  One is a hearing on an application for a temporary alcohol license for the Madison Fire Department’s annual Fireman’s Dance, and the other hearing is on an application for a retail (on-off sale) malt beverage and South Dakota Farm Wine license for Dakota Cinema.  After each hearing, commissioners will consider approving the applications.

Commissioners today are also scheduled to acknowledge a letter from Basin Electric Power Cooperative to amend the capacity purchase agreement, and adopt a policy for a cell phone subsidy.  The commission will also discuss an agreement with Gregg and Nicole Peters for a perpetual sidewalk easement and parking space installation near the former Shopko building.

An executive session for the purpose of preparing for contract negotiations or negotiating with employees or employee representatives is scheduled for the end of today’s meeting.

The Madison City Commission meeting gets started at 5:30 today in the commission room in Madison City Hall.
