A water main break Tuesday afternoon near the Madison Middle and High Schools led to the shut down of classes within the district for two days.  Madison Central Schools cancelled classes on Wednesday and Thursday while the water line repair work was being completed.  The break was in the area of Northeast 9th Street and Summit Avenue.

School officials announced Thursday afternoon that the work on the water line had been completed and that school will be back in session today (Friday).  The school district thanked the city of Madison and Johnson Brothers Construction for their work and the district’s patrons for their patience during the unexpected closure. Activities scheduled for Thursday evening at the school went on as originally planned.Â
