Madison Central School District reports new positive COVID-19 case in elementary school

One more new positive COVID-19 case has been reported in the Madison Central School District.  The district reported Wednesday that a student or staff member at Madison Elementary School had tested positive for the virus, but that there were no close contacts within the school.  There are currently three active COVID-19 cases at Madison Elementary, and two active cases at Madison Middle School.

As of Wednesday in Lake County, there were 44 active coronavirus cases.  

The state Department of Health reported that statewide there were close to 63-hundred active cases, with 233 people currently hospitalized because of the virus.  A total of 2277 COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the state since the start of the pandemic.
