The Madison Central School District is reporting two new positive COVID-19 cases.  Superintendent Joel Jorgenson notified parents Wednesday of two students or staff members at Madison Elementary School who had tested positive for COVID-19.

Jorgenson said the school district is working with the state Department of Health to determine if there were any additional students who would be considered close contacts.  Those identified as close contacts will be contacted by the school district and the state Department of Health.

The school district on Wednesday also updated on its website the number of active and recovered COVID-19 cases within the district.  As of earlier Wednesday, the district reported one active student case in Madison Middle School and one active staff case.
