A third Republican candidate has entered the race for the Lake County Commission.  Adam Leighton of Rutland filed his nominating petitions for the county commission election with the Lake County Auditor’s Office Wednesday.  Leighton joins incumbent county commissioners Roger Hageman of Ramona and Deb Reinicke of Madison as Republican candidates for county commission.  One Democrat, John Doblar of Madison, has also filed nominating petitions for the Lake County Commission. There are three seats up for election on the county commission this year, all to serve four-year terms.

Others who have filed nominating petitions for county offices so far this year are Lake County State’s Attorney Wendy Kloeppner, a Republican, along with Lake County Coroner Mark Rustand, also a Republican, who have both filed for re-election to their positions.

The Lake County Treasurer position is also up for election this year.  The county Treasurer, State’s Attorney, and Coroner, along with Lake County Commissioners, all serve four-year terms.

The deadline to file nominating petitions for the June primary election is March 31st.

Petitions for the county office elections must be filed with the county Auditor’s Office.
