Lake County residents drop off large amount of electronics

A large volume of electronics were disposed of during Lake County’s free electronic recycling drop-off held this fall.  

Mandi Anderson, the county’s Natural Resources Officer, presented numbers to the Lake County Commission during its meeting on Tuesday.  Anderson said the gross weight of all of the electronics brought in for recycling was close to 63-thousand-768 pounds, and the net weight was close to 56-thousand pounds.  Anderson attributed the large volume of electronics like TV’s, monitors, and computers to a couple of different factors.

Anderson said the county is planning to hold another free electronic recycling drop-off event in the spring.
