Lake County has three active COVID-19 cases as of Friday, five more SD deaths reported

A third active positive COVID-19 case has been reported in Lake County Friday.  State Department of Health data Friday shows eight total positive COVID-19 cases in Lake County, with five of them recovered, for a total of three active cases currently.  There have been 251 negative tests in Lake County and community spread has not been identified in the county at this time.  

The state is reporting the first positive COVID-19 case in Kingsbury County Friday.  Other counties in our area with current active cases include Moody County with four and Brookings County with two.  

The state reports five more deaths from COVID-19 Friday, including four in Minnehaha County and one in Beadle County.  

Overall, statewide the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased by 73 Friday to a total of 4866.  There are currently 1063 active cases in the state, and 95 people hospitalized.
