The Lake County Commission approved a couple of personnel items during its meeting on Tuesday.  Commissioners approved the hiring of Ben Gearhart as a non-certified Dispatcher-Trainee for the county’s 911 Communications Department.  Gearhart will work full time, and his hiring is effective Tuesday at a rate of $15.25 per hour.

Commissioners Tuesday also acknowledged that the temporary hire of Certified 911 Dispatcher Matt Feistner will no longer be needed as of March 1st.  911 Communications Director April Denholm told commissioners that her department will be fully staffed with full-time dispatchers, so Feistner’s help in the department will no longer be needed at that time.

Lake County Commissioners, acting as a Board of Adjustment, on Tuesday also approved a conditional use permit for Orland Ridge Dairy to construct a private utility wellhead site for their water source to supply the dairy operation.  The proposed operation site is located approximately two miles from the dairy, which will be located in Clarno Township in the southwest part of the county. Brian and Jeff Bosma are the owners of Orland Ridge Dairy, but Ty Eschenbaum of A-1 Development Solutions represented them for the request before the county commission Tuesday.  Commissioners also approved a plat for the private wellhead site during Tuesday’s meeting.
