Lake County Commission Approves Multiple Agenda Items
The Lake County Commission on Tuesday approved a Joint Powers Agreement with the South Dakota Department of Transportation, to provide striping of County roads. The agreement will cover approximately 19 and a half miles. The project is estimated to cost just over $10,500, with the state covering $6,359 of that cost.Â
The County also authorized a landscaping project for the courthouse. The project would include removing rock and placing new landscaping mats this year, and replacing plants and shrubs next year.Â
Also Tuesday, the commission approved a conditional use permit, submitted by Randy and Jerilyn Rozeboom, to build an unattached oversize accessory building in the Lake Park 1 District, in Chester Township. They also approved a plat for Lot 1 of Dorhout’s Addition, re-plating Tract 1 of Dirk’s Addition in Herman Township, and adding approximately 14 additional acres to Lot 1 of Dorhout’s Addition for the building of a new house.Â
Finally, Commission Administrative Officer Shelli Gust gave an update on the county’s application for courthouse security grants. Both grants the county submitted were approved. They include a grant to replace 13 interior doors, at a total cost of one-hundred and thirteen-thousand, one-hundred dollars.The grant would pay for 75-percent of that cost. The other approved grant is for improvements to the security camera system. Improvements will include upgrades to hardware and software, as well as networking equipment. Total cost for that project would be just over 45-thousand, seven-hundred dollars. The grant would also pay for 75 percent of that cost.
