Lake County Auditor announces retirement

Lake County will soon have a new Auditor.  Current Auditor Bobbi Janke is retiring from the position in August.  Janke presented her retirement request to Lake County Commissioners for their approval on Tuesday.

Janke asked commissioners to consider appointing Deputy Auditor Paula Barrick to fill in for her position after her retirement, and also asked that Deputy Auditor Erin Tisdall be promoted.

Commissioners considered and discussed Janke’s requests in executive session.  After the executive session, the commission voted to accept Janke’s retirement, effective August 23rd.  Commissioners also agreed to appoint Barrick to fill the vacancy effective August 24th at an annual salary of just more than 49-thousand dollars. Barrick’s appointment will run until March 5th of 2023.

Commissioners also approved a status change for Erin Tisdall to Deputy Auditor One, at a rate of $18.25 an hour effective on Tuesday.  Commission Administrative Officer Shelli Gust will post the opening for a Deputy Auditor-Two position.

Also during their meeting on Tuesday, commissioners approved the hiring of a new Office Manager for the County’s Highway Department.  Highway Superintendent Nels Nelson asked that Michelle Uhrig be hired for the position, starting today.  Commissioners approved Uhrig’s hiring at a rate of $16.45 an hour and contingent upon a satisfactory background check.  Uhrig is replacing Debbie Rowley, who is retiring from the position in June.
