Friday COVID-19 update: 7 deaths in state; 1 new positive case in Lake County

The state Department of Health reported seven additional COVID-19 deaths in the state on Friday.  The state’s virus-related death toll is now at 1879.  Another 143 new positive COVID-19 cases were reported statewide Friday.  There were 1944 active cases, and 96 people in the state were hospitalized because of the virus.

Lake County reported one new positive coronavirus case Friday, putting the county’s active cases now at 31.

A couple of area counties also saw their number of active cases increase slightly on Friday.  Kingsbury County had 20 active COVID-19 cases, and Moody County had 10.  Miner County also reported ten active coronavirus cases, and McCook County had 8.  Brookings County reported 56 active COVID-19 cases.
