Five COVID-19 deaths reported in state Wednesday

The state Department of Health reported five additional COVID-19 deaths Wednesday, putting the state’s overall death toll at 2019. There were 36 new positive COVID-19 cases reported yesterday. The number of active cases decreased to 300 and hospitalizations decreased to 41.

Lake County had no new positive COVID-19 cases reported Wednesday, with one new recovered case. This puts the number of active cases currently in the county at ten.

All other area counties are reporting less than ten active cases, with Kingsbury County having none as of Wednesday.

The number of people in the state who are fully vaccinated remains at 49-percent, while 55-percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose.
