In just more than a week of operation, the state and FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Madison has had close to 90 people stop in to apply for and ask questions about assistance.  The Disaster Recovery Center opened in the former Cars for Les building on South Highland Avenue in Madison last week. On Tuesday, FEMA Intergovernmental Affairs Specialist

Yampue Gontaye met with Lake County Commissioners.  She said that those who incurred any damages from the September flooding should stop by the center.

The Disaster Recovery Center is open in Madison Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and also includes agencies like the Small Business Administration.  The deadline for residents and homeowners to apply for assistance through these programs is 60 days after the presidential disaster declaration, which works out to be January 17th. Â
