EPA Finalizing Rules for Forever Chemicals in Lewis & Clark Drinking Water

The Environmental Protection Agency is working through details of issuing final rules dealing with P-F-A-S chemicals in drinking water. Those are the so-called “forever” chemicals that can come from industrial products, like the non-stick coating on some cookware.

The new standards could be difficult for many water systems to meet. Troy Larson, Executive Director of the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System, says their water source is not close to any of those types of chemicals.

Larson says Lewis & Clark is coming along at the right time for many communities.

The system pumps treated water to towns and cities in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota.
