DSU Students take part in RSA Conference

Two Dakota State University graduate students, Gillian Morris and Janessa Palmieri, attended the RSA Security Conference, an annual event that brings together the world’s cybersecurity professionals to discuss current and future concerns in the industry.

Morris and Palmieri were nominated for the honor by the Vice President for Research & Economic Development at DSU, Dr. Ashley Podhradsky.

Podhradsky says she’s grateful DSU was brought into the RSA Scholars program several years ago. DSU has sent eight women to RSA over the last several years and will continue to send two more each year.

About 45,000 people attend the conference, the largest cybersecurity conference in the U.S. The event includes over 650 speakers, more than 350 sessions, and 500 industry exhibitors.

Morris and Palmieri are earning master’s degrees in Cyber Defense, and both have internships with government agencies this summer.
