DOH update on COVID-19 infections

The state Department of Health is hoping that COVID-19 vaccinations will outpace another infection surge.

State Epidemiologist Dr. Josh Clayton said more rapid vaccinations will help keep that infection curve down.

Clayton said COVID variants are still a threat.

Clayton said there may be some infection increases and decreases from week to week for some time.

So far, none of the variants have been detected in South Dakota.
