The Disaster Recovery Center in Madison is closing today.  All of the remaining Centers in the state are closing this week.  The centers in Madison, Mitchell, and Alexandria will close today at 6:00 p.m., while the center in Plankinton will close Saturday at 6:00 p.m.   Registration for disaster assistance through FEMA though is still available through January 31st.  

Since the Disaster Recovery Centers have opened, specialists have met with more than eleven-hundred residents to assist with registrations and resolve issues.  

After the centers close, homeowners and renters with disaster-related damage in the eleven designated counties included in the most recent federal disaster declaration can still register with FEMA.  

Registration can be done online at DisasterAssistance.gov. or by calling the disaster assistance helpline at 800-621-3362 or TTY: 800-462-7585. Lines are open daily from 7 a.m.-11 p.m. Help is available in most languages.
