Dine Out to Donate raises $1,700 for IAUW

More than 17-hundred dollars was raised for the Interlakes Area United Way through this fall’s “Dine Out to Donate” event.  The event was held throughout the month of October and kicked off the United Way’s 2021 campaign drive.

The annual event was revamped this year to align with COVID-19 safety measures. Instead of a single-day promotion, the Interlakes Area United Way sold gift cards to participating restaurants during the month of October. The businesses pledged to donate a portion of the total sales to the United Way.  

More than 46-hundred dollars in Dine Out to Donate sales helped garner the more than 17-hundred dollar donation The money will be used in the Interlakes Area United Way’s general fund.  In four years of doing the fundraising event, the United Way has raised a total of 92-hundred dollars. 

The United Way awarded more than 117-thousand dollars to 37 organizations in 2020.  So far, nineteen agencies and programs located in or serving the three-county region have applied for funding for 2021.
