COVID-19 Weekend update: 16 deaths in state; Lake County reports 2 deaths & 4 positive cases
Another sixteen COVID-19 deaths were reported in the state over the weekend, including two Lake County residents. The state has now had a total of 1446 virus-related deaths since the start of the pandemic, and Lake County has had 16.
Statewide, an additional 844 new positive COVID-19 cases were reported over the weekend, bringing the state’s overall total to more than 97-thousand. Just less than 67-hundred cases are active at this time, and 274 people are hospitalized because of the virus.
Lake County reported four positive COVID-19 cases since Friday, along with ten recovered cases. The county’s overall totals now include 1008 positive cases, 937 recovered, and sixteen deaths. There are currently 55 active COVID-19 cases in Lake County.
Elsewhere in our area, Kingsbury County reported 51 active cases, McCook County had 42, and Moody County reported 38 active COVID-19 cases. Miner County had 18 active cases, and Brookings County reported 214.
