County commission holds end of year meeting

The Lake County Commission met on Wednesday to take care of some of the county’s final business items for 2021. 

Commissioners approved a resolution transferring money from the county’s contingency fund to help cover several departments’ budget shortfalls for 2021.  The commission approved a total transfer of just more than 106-thousand dollars.  Some of the department budgets needing the highest amounts transferred included the Judicial budget for 34-thousand-800 dollars, the Sheriff’s Office budget for just more than 29-thousand, and the Road and Bridge budget for just more than 27-thousand dollars.  

The commission also approved a supplemental budget resolution for the Sheriff’s Office for 24-hundred dollars in Prairie Village security proceeds, along with several other 2021 budget-related items.

County offices will be closed on Friday, December 31st for the New Year’s holiday.

The county commission’s first meeting of 2022 will be on Tuesday, January 4th.
