Close to 1000 new positive COVID-19 cases reported in state over the weekend; seven in Lake County

The state once again reported record numbers of new positive COVID-19 cases over the weekend.  All total statewide, 987 new positive cases were reported by the state Department of Health.  The state also reported two more deaths, putting the state’s total number of virus-related deaths at 218.  The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state increased to almost 38-hundred and 216 people are currently hospitalized as of Sunday. 

Lake County reported another seven positive COVID-19 cases over the weekend, as well as five recovered cases.  This puts the number of active cases in the county now at 33.

Increases in positive cases were also reported in area counties.  Brookings County now has 121 active COVID-19 cases.  Moody County has 26, and McCook County has 22 active cases, while Kingsbury County has thirteen and Miner County has four active COVID-19 cases as of Sunday.
