City considers proposed resolution for sidewalk improvement project

Madison City Commissioners acknowledged a proposed resolution for a sidewalk improvement project for next year during their meeting on Monday.  

City Engineer Chad Comes told commissioners that the city’s sidewalk committee recommended that sidewalks be constructed in areas on 5th Street Northeast from North Prairie to North Antelope Avenues, and 4th Street Northeast from North Division to North Antelope Avenues.  Comes said the resolution also includes a couple of areas where property owners with a corner lot will need to complete the second side of their lots.

The proposed resolution acknowledged by commissioners declares the necessity for the sidewalk improvements and sets a hearing date for December 16th.  Comes said that property owners and commissioners can discuss the next steps for the resolution during that hearing.
